OUR MISSION

Missouri Smoke Free is non-profit tobacco harm reduction organization dedicated to protecting tobacco and vapor shop owners, at the same time ensuring the health and safety of the consumer. 

WHY WE NEED A PAC

The process to passing or defeating legislation can take years due to many different factors: explaining the issue to legislators, finding bill sponsors, incentivizing leadership to prioritize the legislation, and eventually getting the votes to pass or defeat a bill. Due to every legislator having a multitude of priorities, it is important to move Missouri Smoke Free Alliance’s priorities to the top of legislators (especially leaderships) desired legislative successes. The best way to do that is by creating and supporting a political action committee (PAC) that can make financial contributions to legislator’s campaign committees in order help them understand Missouri Smoke Free’s legislative priorities, but to actively assist with the success of the organization’s goals. 

Campaign for Nicotine Free Kids was created to assist Missouri Smoke Free Alliance with their legislative priorities. These include preemption of municipalities, banning online sales, and mandatory ID scanning software.

PAC STRATEGIES

Campaign contributions will be made based on the priority list below:

  1. Bill Sponsors
  2. Senate and House Leadership
  3. Senate and House Committee Chairs
  4. Influential Committee Members
  5. Non-Committee Legislators (Only If Needed)

PAC FUNDING GOALS

Campaign for Nicotine Free Kids’ goal is to raise $50,000 every two years. Below are ways that you help the political action committee protect vapor shops in Missouri and throughout the country, but to ensure that consumers are protected as well.
